Jayhawk Athletic Performance Lab

Jayhawk Athletic Performance Lab at the University of Kansas is part of the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance. This lab contributes to significant sport science research with a focus on optimizing high performance in various sports. Current areas of research in this lab include:

  • Sport-specific training, techniques & data analytics (basketball, baseball, track and field, diving, football)
  • Motion capture systems (motionomics, sport technique)
  • Resistance exercises (training methods, responses and adaptations)
  • Sprinting, stiffness, and yank (force analysis)
  • Accelerometry
  • Psycho-physiology


GRANADA, SPAIN:

Dr. Amador García Ramos

is an assistant professor from the Department of Physical and Sports Education of the University of Granada in Spain. He published more than 230 articles in journals indexed in Web of Science, presented more than 60 abstracts at scientific conferences, and published 5 book chapters. These publications have received more than 4000 citations since 2014 (source Google Scholar). His research focuses on Strength & Conditioning, Biomechanics, and Motor Control.

Dr. Nejc Sarabon

Dr Šarabon graduated in parallel from two undergrad degrees (Physiotherapy and Sport pedagogy /training) and obtained a PhD from sport science. He works as a lecturer and a researcher at the University of Primorska (Andrej Marusic Institute) and as the head of the research group in his company S2P. His scientific focus is human balance, functional stability, strength, power and neuromuscular control. He used to be a member of a national team in karate and still continues to work as a physical trainer with several world-class athletes and as a consulter to different national teams. He is closely involved in the development and has authored over ten patents. He is regularly involved with the Slovenian Olympic committee to translate scientific knowledge into practice. Dr Šarabon with his work incorporates theory and practice, research and development, prevention and training, academics and enterprise. He is undoubtedly one of the leading scientists/experts in the field of sport science in Slovenia.
